The legendary producer and composer of Discs Quincy Jones was honored during the Oscars.
Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey opened the tribute with friendly words about the late Jones, with whom they both worked in the past, before presenting Queen Latifah on stage, who made “ease on the way” of “The Wiz”.

“Quincy was love, he lived loudly, in human form. And he poured that love in others and his work,” said Winfrey.

Jones, who was nominated for seven Oscar during his legendary career, including three for “the color purple” of 1985, deceased In November 2024 at 91.
Jones received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in the 67 Academy Awards and posthumously received an Honorary Oscar at the 2024 Governors Awards two weeks after his death, and his children accepted the trophy in his name.
Before the ceremony, Raj Kapoor, executive producer and showrunner for the Oscar of this year, the tribute of Jones foreseen as a “beautiful moment that we hope will raise the room, which celebrates the spirit of Quincy and all its greatness.”
